Missions Initiative Trips (MIT)
One of the most eye-opening and soul-stirring things my wife and I have ever done in our life is to go to the mission field and labor in short-term missions. The Biblical principle of “our eye affecting our heart” plays out true time and time again when a person sees the great need that exists around our world today.
The purpose of MIT (Mission Initiative Trips) is to see more men and women answer the call to labor in the great harvest fields around the world and to see those serving in the US stirred to pray and give more to missions.
The plan is to GO, to SEE, to SERVE, and to CHANGE. As we follow Christ’s command to GO and preach the gospel, we will SEE the great needs and SERVE alongside local missionaries who are currently working on the field. As we do this and dive into the Word of God together, our prayer is that the Lord will CHANGE our hearts and lives!
Whether you have been on the mission field many times or have never been before, we want to encourage you to prayerfully consider joining us for an MIT. We truly believe it could forever change your life! You can view some testimonies from those who have gone on previous Missions Initiative Trips on our Testimonies page.
Panama Trip (August 4-11, 2023)
Panama is the place that started my love for missions trips. It was the first foreign country that I had ever visited. Our MIT ministry began here, and we are so excited to be going back. On this trip, we will be ministering along side of veteran missionaries Rafael and Tracy Rodriguez. The Rodriguez family are truly some of the most humble and giving people I have ever had the opportunity to be around. The opportunity to meet them and catch their passion for missions is worth the trip!
This trip is FILLED with ministry opportunities including opportunities to teach, preach, and sing in multiple services – opportunities to serve in multiple feeding centers and an orphanage – opportunities to learn how to make balloon animals and distribute them to children – opportunities to go soul winning and make house visits while delivering food baskets (one of my favorite parts) – and more.
Panama is a great place to visit as a family or couple. We will be staying in a very comfortable hotel and American food and comforts are available in many places. All ages are welcome on this trip.
The cost is $1,600, and this cost can be easily offset with fund raising and donations.
South Africa Trip (October 16-27, 2023)
On many people’s bucket list of missions trips is a visit to Africa, and this is an awesome opportunity to do just that. I truly believe this will be the trip of a lifetime for many who go. We will be ministering along side the dynamic ministry of Bro. Mark Coffee and his family on this trip.
Ministry opportunities will abound on this trip as we will be helping Bro. Coffee run a camp while we are there. We will also have opportunities to minister in multiple churches during our stay. I believe the Lord will open up doors for ministry that we do not even have planned. It seems like He often does this.
We will also be enjoying some of the fun things to do in South Africa. This obviously isn’t the reason we are there, but we will have time to take advantage of some of the thrills that exist when you travel around the world. The third highest bungee jump in the world is located here for those seeking a thrill and there are also safari parks, shark dives, and other touristy opportunities.
The cost for the trip is $2,600. This includes all lodging, transportation, food, and other necessities once the trip begins. This is a longer trip because of the distance, but I believe it will be a trip that will truly be life-changing.
Chile, South America Trip (January 5-15, 2024)
We are so excited to have the opportunity to visit and be a part of the ministry of missionaries Nate and Christine Saint. They are in the midst of building a new church building for their current ministry and have purchased property to begin ministry in another city. God truly has His hand on these missionaries, and we are thrilled to join them for an MIT trip.
This trip will hold great opportunities for Spanish speakers, but even those who aren’t fluent in Spanish will find plenty of opportunities to minister. We will be involved in canvassing, VBS, music, teaching, preaching, and perhaps other ministry opportunities as the Lord allows. There will be great opportunities to experience foreign missions first hand and learn from seasoned missionaries.
This will be a trip in which our hearts will be stirred by what God is doing in the work that is on going and also by the need that still exists. We look forward to taking our first MIT trip to South America!
Cost: $1,700 – $2,000
